Today I was listening, and they constantly repeat lines such as "Hey Andy, did you hear about this one?" "Andy are you goofing on Elvis?" etc etc. And they mention Andy Kaufman. My initial question of course is "Who is Andy Kaufman, and how does he relate to this song?"
Well, thanks to my friends on Wikipedia, I found out he's a comedian, but more than just that, he's a performance actor who I recognized!

He had his own show in 1983 where he played the host as Elvis. He was well known for his Elvis impersonation, being so good that even Elvis himself said it was his favorite.

He had always been taken with WWE wrestlers, and began a charade of wrestling large,muscled women, offering 1000 dollars to any women who could pin him.

Andy's biopic (film biography) made 15 years after his death (starring Jim Carrey, who won an Oscar for it) was named after this R.E.M. song, and used the song for its soundtrack!
So thus, Andy Kaufman lives on. He's been on Saturday Night Live, The Letterman Show, as well as many others. Check him out. He's supposed to be pretty funny.
